SUGGESTIONS on how this can work:
As a first step, I would confirm with league organizers that we do, in fact, have 13 EHS players registered. There may be a few more or a few less than what has been communicated to me.
If it is confirmed that we do have at least 13 EHS players registered, I would make it clear to the league organizers that we do not want additional players added to our teams. That would be my preference so that you can maximize playing time for EHS players. You may prefer a different approach, it is up to you.
Below I present two options: one is moving forward with just 13 EHS players and maximizing their playing time; the other is requesting from league organizers that a few additional players be added to one of our EHS teams. (This secomd option would reduce playing time for EHS players.)
OPTION 1:
Sharing EHS players between 2 varsity teams (maximizes playing time for EHS players)
Tell league organizers you want all EHS players split into two EHS varsity teams. (No one on a JV team.)
You coach both teams.
Share players between teams (but do not tell league organizers that you will be sharing players.)
Ask league organizers to not schedule EHS1 and EHS2 to play at same time (unless they are playing each other). Tell them that will allow you to coach both teams.
Ask Cara if she wants play GK for both teams (may not always work if teams are playing at same time… for those games, you will need to pre-arrange to borrow a GK from another team).
Each week, arrange ahead of time to have 2 or 3 different field players participate on both teams. All players should be allowed this opportunity at least once. Again, sharing players may not always work if teams are playing at the same time.)
OPTION 2:
Pick up a few extra players for one of the EHS teams (will reduce playing time for EHS players)
Pick up a few extra players (GK , plus 2 field players) to fill out one of the EHS teams.
The danger in this that the league organizers may then choose to pile pn all of the extra players on EHS teams, which will take away from playing time for EHS players.
SUGGESTION for How EHS Teams Can be Split (may want to communicate your preference to league prganizers)
