Scenarios:

  • MOST likely SHS will have a strong left side attack with #3 (Shannon/Tori must shut this down with help from Anita… Nicole & Addy must hold center) Also Elizabeth, Dami and Emma can sub for Shannon)

  • EHS will use left side attack (Nicole and Addy) and right side attack (Emma and Kenadie) Also Erika and Dami can be right wing subs

  • If any of our defenders need a sub, we should move Nicole back and move Emma to TOD

  • If Salice or Nicole come out at any point, Quinn can cover their roles on offense corners

DEFENSE

Slow down SHS Left side attack (#3)

  • Channel, poke/disrupt & trap (COMMUNICATE!)

  • BOD and TOD be ready to help as needed to slow down left side

  • We want to neutralize left side attack

Far side mid (Addy) MUST race back on an SHS breakaway to pick up a mark in our defensive circle

Wings and point come back past our defensive 25 yard line when ball is in our defensive 1/3.

  • Wings stay wide (out of bounds) so that they can run onto any ball.

  • Point and TOD stay alert to pick up any free ball in middle of field

FAST SELF STARTS!

  • Quickly go right a few steps and send

FAST FREE HITS!!

  • Any hits from 40 yard line go directly to goal cage.

  •   Mids and forwards need to move to open passing lanes.

  •   Far wing gets in front of GK

  • Any hits in our defensive 1/3 are aimed at corner of turf at far end (NOT at sideline)

GET FIRST TOUCH and PRESSURE BALL

  • constantly moving… never watching

OFFENSE

Strong to goal!!!

ALL free hits inside the 40yard line go to goal cage - Far side wing gets in front of of GK

  • Forwards and mids cut to open passing lanes

  • DO NOT let SHS player simply stand in front of you and stop the ball

  • TRY for every ball

  • Get first touch and then FINISH the play

Our attack will be 50% RIGHT SIDE and 50% LEFT SIDE

  • RIGHT SIDE: the wing carries and crosses past 15 yd line (other forwards are on diagonal toward goal cage. ALL MIDS are on edge of circle to send ball back in to goal cage

  • LEFT SIDE: the left mid carries and cuts in around 30 yard line for 25 yard line and blasts ball to goal cage (right wing gets in front of goalkeeper… point at top of circle… left wing available for through pass from left mid).

URGENCY & FOCUS to keep ball in play in our attack circle

  • ALL MIDS are on edge of circle to send ball back in to goal cage

  • Forwards can find mid at top of circle when they are double- or triple-teamed in attack circle

  • Choices for mids at edge of circle:

    • Send ball immediately to goal

    • Carry right and send ball immediately to goal when you have an opening

    • Carry right and send to mid that is to the right of you

    • Carry right and to end line so you can send checkmark pass to stroke mark

25 yd hits

  • NICOLE carries right and blasts ball to goal cage

DEFENSE DIAGONAL when we are on attack

  • The defender on side of turf where ball is being played in attacking 1/3 should be up on the diagonal
