Proposed Practice plan 10/6 (prepping for ER & Brighton)
I think we have been working on important individual sklills tightened up our ability to possess the ball in our our games last week: dead stops, gong strong to goal and pressuring goalkeeper, anticipating and cutting to intercept passes, carrying ball out of danger zone with strong outlet passes, fast self starts to the right, fast and strong free hits. i think it is best to keep working on the same things to help players feel even more confident. Also — possibly — rotate all players into all positions, as we may be changing up the lineup significangtly in ER game, if we get enough of a lead.
4-4:10 dynamic
—
4:15-4:30 Hard Hits into circle rebound off GK pads…. Intercept on the move (never stop feet) and FREIGHT TRAIN carry to extreme sideline and then pass through with power push (left side must c-cut and then do power push through… NO REVERSE in our defensive 1/3 [Left side Forwards should be 10 yards ahead… out wide… and running onto the ball without hesitation AND rt side forwards should be 10 yards ahead at hash mark(?) so they can run onto the ball and control with a reverse touch… non-marking Mids and Salice are closer to edge of circle to pick up any ball that pops out… then they send wide with as few touches as possible]
—
4:30-4:45 Same as above, but we now have forwards/mids rushing into circle as the defenders are intercepting and FREIGHT TRAIN out
—
4:45-5 Right side crossing ball…. defenders getting lower than the ball (Maddy Posella drill with 2 defenders starting at top of circle… recovering to base line and getting feet around
—
5-5:15 Left side crossing ball defenders getting lower than the ball (Maddy Posella drill with 2 defenders starting at top of circle… recovering to base line and getting feet around
—
5:15-5:30 CUTTING IN FRONT OF TIRES
—
5:30-5:45 Adding a stick as ball is sent to goal cage from 30 yd line
—
5:45-6 team stretch
