LIMITED ACCESS TO TURF & MAIN GYM
Tues 7/14 and Thurs 7/16 We will not have access to baseball turf for summer FH workouts because there is a baseball camp on those dates. (we may have access to softball turf… still need to confirm)
Tues 7/7, Thurs 7/9, Tues 7/14, Thurs 7/16 No access to main gym for body weight strength training because they will be resurfacing the gym floor (we may be able to use 9th grade gym or the wrestling room… still need to confirm)
Tues 8/4 we will not have access to baseball turf because there is a girls soccer camp on that date. (we may have access to softball turf… still need to confirm)

APPS TO PUT ON YOUR PHONE
Coaches should download ParentSquare app. JR is hoping this will be the single-entry communication solution for both players AND parents. The app is tied to the school district Microsoft system. I was not able to successfully sign in. (Perhaps it is not yet officially connected wthin the school district?) Anyway, I think we should all take the time to familiarize ourselves with the app and its capabilities now… in case we are required to use it the Fall.
Coaches should download Arbiter app. I created a login using my school district email (actually, I already had a login that I used to view our online registration info). Anyway, the Arbiter app will redirect you to ArbiterSports where you will be able to view our Fall 2026 game schedules as well as our summer workout schedules.
TOP PRIORITY: Our FH coaching staff needs to work together to determine the best practice times for preseason and after school. Below is the info I discussed with JR on 6/24. There are MANY factors to consider. It is complicated. Please read all of what is presented, including the rundown of what the first 1/2 of the season looks like. We need to lock in our preferred practice times soon.
PROS & CONS: MORNING PRESEASON PRACTICES
PROS
We have full stadium and indoor facilities all to ourselves (that includes indoor spaces if weather is bad)
Calm and quiet on campus so practices are more effective
Cooler temps
Easy for kids with jobs to work around
No conflicts with marching band rehearsals (we have at least 8 FH players in marching band this year)
CONS
Players completing summer school or redoing Regents exams will miss one or more days
Players doing Link Crew will have 2-3 days of conflicts (so far, only Addy & Quinn say they are doing Link Crew)
Players attending Freshmen orientation will miss one day
So far, it looks like Berrin, Justyce and Audrie are all locked into summer school district jobs that require them to work 7:30-3:30 M-F from Monday 6/30 through to Monday 8/31 (All summer AND the first 8 days of preseason!)
Tough for Hannah to attend due to her job (not sure about Maddy and Kaliess)
PROS & CONS: EVENING PRESEASON PRACTICES
PROS
No conflicts for players completing summer school or redoing Regents exams
No conflicts for Link Crew kids (just Addy & Quinn so far)
No conflicts for Freshmen on Orientation day
Easier for Hannah to attend due to work (not sure about Maddy & Kaliess)
CONS
Hotter temps
May be more challenging for players with jobs to manage with work schedule?
Will not get stadium turf (we would possibly have baseball turf M-W-F and definitely have softball turf Tu/Th)
Indoor options will be few or none if weather is bad
Campus will be busy and distracting in the evenings
Conflicts for marching band kids every Tu/Th (I think they will choose marching band on those nights… we have at least 8 FH players in marching band this year)
PRESEASON PRACTICE OPTIONS
NOTE: Preseason begins Monday 8/24

FH can have softball turf any day, any time
FH can have full stadium turf any morning during preseason
M-W-F LATE AFTERNOON / EARLY EVENING
FH could possibly have 1/2 baseball turf (including 3rd base line to backstop) in the late afternoon/early evening M-W-F*
*NOTE: Football will be on stadium turf 5-8pm
FH could definitely have softball turf in the late afternoon/early evening Tu/Th*
*NOTE: Football will be on baseball turf 5-8pm
*NOTE: Marching band will be on stadium turf 6-9pm
REMEMBER: We have at least 8 FH players in marching band this fall (5 JV and 3 V). Having evening practices on Tu/Th when marching band has rehearsals is probably not be a good idea.
AFTER SCHOOL PRACTICE OPTIONS

FH can have softball turf any day, any time after school
M-F LATE AFTERNOON / EARLY EVENING
FH could possibly have 1/2 of marked FH field on baseball turf M-F late afternoon/early evening*
*NOTE: Football will be on baseball turf M-F 5-8pm. They use full football field in outfield area and also the area along thrid base line to backstop. JR says it can get pretty loud & distracting out there during football practices.
*NOTE: Marching band will be on stadium turf or parking lot every Tu/Th 6-9pm
REMEMBER: We have at least 8 FH players in marching band this fall (5 JV and 3 V). Having evening practices on Tu/Th when marching band has rehearsals is probably not be a good idea.
FH could occasionally have the stadium turf late afternoon/ early evening on a Monday or Wednesday or possibly a Friday, if there are no home games scheduled.*
*NOTE: JR says this would be a rare occurrence.
*NOTE: JR says that on Fridays football will likley have a HOME game. If they have an AWAY game on a Friday, they will get the stadium turf for warm-ups prior to an AWAY football game.

FH will be rotated through stadium turf, baseball turf & softball turf based on overall stadium HOME games schedule and boys/girls soccer practice schedules*
*NOTE: No marching band conflicts because we can easily let marching band kids leave practice at 5pm on Tu/Th (marching band rehearses every Tu/Th 6-9pm)
