1) Use all of your leave-behind cards.

These cards really work! Just write your name on the back so that you will get credited with the sale. Sellers (players and parents) like that the cards contain all of the sales information in one place. Simply ask a potential purchaser that — if they are planning to have pie this Thanksgiving — would they consider getting a Leo’s Bakery pie through our pie sale. If they say yes, then leave the card with them. No pressure for players and parents to sell. No pressure for purchasers to make a decision on the spot. Potential purchasers take the card with them and decide at their convenience whether to make purchase (which they usually do!)

2) Send email to friends and relatives.

LISTED BELOW ARE THE REASONS WHY OUR EHS FH PIE SALE WORKS SO WELL (and why you — and your family — should try to get the most out of this opportunity!)

We created the EHS FH pie sale to be simple and no-pressure for both the seller and the purchaser. PARTICIPATION IS OPTIONAL! However, listed below are some of the reasons why this fundraiser works so well (and why you should try to get the most out of this opportunity):

THERE IS A GENUINE NEED FOR THIS PRODUCT. People want and need pie for Thanksgiving.
RECOGNIZED QUALITY PRODUCT FROM LOCAL COMPANY. People recognize Leo’s Bakery in East Rochester and know it provides delicious, high quality bakery items.
COMPETITIVE PRICING. We keep the price of the pies competitive. Leo’s suggests that fundraising groups sell their pies for $16 or more ($17 dollars or more for the pecan pie). We choose to sell them for just $15. That means that we sell the pies for just 50 cents more than Leo’s sells the pies at their East Rochester store. And we sell the pecan pie for 50 cents LESS than Leo’s is selling it at their store.
LIMITED CHOICES RESULTS IN HIGHER SALES. We limit the pie choices in our sale to just five varieties: Four traditional Thanksgiving favorites, including pumpkin, pecan, French apple and lemon meringue; and the number one top-sellling pie at Leo’s Bakery - peanut butter brownie. While Leo’s offers MANY more varieties of delicious pies, we limit the choices to just these five because it makes the decision-making process easier for purchasers. As a result, we sell more pie.
SAFE, SECURE ONLINE ORDERING. We have custom-designed a simple online pie shop that allows people to quickly and conveniently make their pie purchase from their computer, tablet or phone. The online store allows purchasers to easily credit individual players with the sale. Purchasers automatically receive a confirmation email for their purchase and also automatically receive a reminder email on 11/21 tp pick up their pies on 11/22. Sellers do not have to handle order forms and cash. The services we use for the pie shop (squarespace.com) and the credit card processing (stripe.com) both have the highest ratings for reliability and security. We have been using these services for our fundraising for eight years with no problems.
LEAVE-BEHIND CARDS REDUCE STRESS FOR SELLERS AND PURCHASERS. Because we do not use paper order forms and we do not collect cash or checks, purchasers can decide on their own 24/7 if and when they want to purchase pie. A FH player or a parents simply leaves the pie sale card with them to read through at their convenience. All players and parents need to do is distribute the cards and make sure the player’s name is written in where indicated on the back.
EFFICIENT PIE PICK-UP DAY. Pie pick-up day this year is Monday 11/22. We pick up pies around 12noon. A team of parent volunteers and coaches sort and bag pies into pre-labeled bags from 12:30-2. Purchasers pick up pie between 2-5:30. Because the pies are pre-labeled and bagged, the pie pick-up process is accurate, quick and easy for all involved. Many of our purchasers view this process as a helpful service during the hectic days leading up to Thanksgiving.
