Hello EHS FH Players & Families!

Two FH games this week:

• Tuesday HOME (navy uniforms)

  • JV 5:30pm… players @EHS stadium by 4:30pm

  • Varsity 7pm… players @EHS stadium by 5:30pm

• Thursday AWAY @Penfield HS (white uniforms)

  • JV & V both at 5pm… players arrive @EHS stadium by 3:45pm

  • Both games will be on turf (two separate fields)

Two Coach Isaiah strength workouts this week:

• MONDAY: All Varsity & JV players 2:30-3:30pm (wear sneakers!)

• WEDNESDAY: All Varsity & JV players 2:30-3:30pm (wear sneakers!)

  • All players should be outside weight room by 2:25 dressed in appropriate workout clothes

  • Please wear one of your FH t-shirts

  • All players must wear sneakers for these workouts

EHS FH TEAM STORE COMING SOON!

We hope to have a link to the EHS FH team apparel store later this week.

PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN!

Our EHS All Sports Booster Club is looking for volunteers this Fall to staff the outdoor and indoor cafes during sporting events. We hope that FH families can help with some of the dates. Booster Club is an important supporter of all EHS athletic teams, including field hockey. They have many volunteer opportunities still available this fall! PLEASE help out, if you can.

WE NEED PARENT VOLUNTEERS TO ORGANIZE FH SENIOR NIGHT

Our FH Senior Night Game will be on Friday October 10 vs. Brighton. In recent years, the FH coaches have organized this event and paid for it out of our general FH fundraising account. This year, we would like parents to organize Senior Night and cover the minimal expenses associated with it. Text Coach Fischer if you would like to help out with Senior Night. JV TEAM PHOTOS (and Senior Banner Photos): 3:30pm on Monday 9/22

JV indivdiual and team photos will be taken in the athletics hallway at 3:30pm on Monday 9/22 (prior to the 5pm HOME JV game on that date). JV players will receive a photo order form from Coach Posella and Coach Evans. Ordering photos is optional. However, all JV players must be in the team photo. Only players who choose to purchase individual photos need to also get an individual photo taken.

PLEASE NOTE: Varsity Senior Banner photos will be taken prior to JV photos on 9/22 at 3:30pm. This is a final date. There will be no make-up photo dates available for FH seniors after 9/22.

FAMILIES MUST REQUEST PERMISSION FOR A PLAYER TO NOT RIDE THE TEAM BUS

ALL PLAYERS are expected to ride the team bus to and from each AWAY game. If your family has need to request that a player not ride the team bus to or from a game, the Athletic Director must receive the request in writing at least 24 hours in advance of the game. You can send your request to athletics@eastiron.org

FALL 2024: CONGRATULATIONS LIJEYNIE & SALICE!!

LIJEYNIE — 12th grade EHS FH team captain and our center back — was named to First Team All County! This is a significant honor for Lijeynie and our entire EHS FH program. Be sure to congratulate Lijeynie when you see her!

SALICE — 11th grade EHS FH attack line player — was named to Second Team All County! This is a significant honor for Salice and our entire EHS FH program. Be sure to congratulate Salice when you see her!

FALL 2024: NYS SCHOLAR ATHLETE TEAM 12 YEARS IN A ROW!

We are pleased to announce that our Fall 2024 Lancer FH team once again earned NYS Scholar Athlete Team honors. This is the 12th year in a row that our team has achieved this honor. Academics are always a priority for our program and we are grateful to have such an amazing group of Student Athletes in our Lancer FH program.

FALL 2024: SECTION V FH TEAM SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD!

This is the fourth time in the past 12 years that Lancer FH has received the Section V Team Sportsmanship Award (2014, 2019, 2022, 2024). The award is voted on by the Greater Rochester Field Hockey Umpire Board. Coach Cooper and Coach Fischer work hard to keep our EHS FH program moving in a positive direction. We are grateful for our awesome players, fantastic parents and supportive Athletic Department. This award recognizes the efforts of players, coaches, parents and our school district in pursuing good character and sportsmanship within athletic programs and in athletic competitions.

FALL 2023: SECTION V (DIV 2) COACHING STAFF OF THE YEAR

Lancer Field Hockey Coaches Cooper and Fischer were honored to be named the Fall 2023 Section V Division II Coaching Staff of the Year by our fellow Section V field hockey coaches. It is a testament to the great improvement our very young varsity team made throughout the Fall 2023 season! (DID YOU KNOW? Coach Fischer was also named Section V Division II Coach of the Year in Fall 2016. That was another season of great improvement for our Lancers and also a season in which Coach Fischer coached BOTH the varsity and JV teams.)
